中钢集团马鞍山矿山研究院有限公司（MIMR）创建于1963年，建院以来，承担并出色完成了“六五”“十一五”重大科技攻关项目、科技支撑计划项目118项，重大技术装备国产化项目2项，新产品、火炬计划等项目22项，以及省部级重点单位及厂矿企业委托的各类项目12000余项，获和省部级科技进步奖500余项，获授权专利102项， 在国内外各种刊物上发表的学术论文3160篇，发表专著16部，完成部委委托编制的行业规程规范36部。
2009年中钢矿院玻璃微珠公司开发的1.5万吨/年高性能玻璃微珠产品已全面投放市场。玻璃微珠公司直属于马鞍山矿山研究院有限公司，占地面积20000m2，拥有数个大型标准化厂房共计10000m2，现代化综合办公区7000m2，并通过ISO9001：2008质量管理体系认证，拥有国内外较先进的全套高性能空心玻璃微珠生产线和专业的工艺技术。面对激烈的市场竞争，矿院微珠公司秉承“质量为上、诚信为本、服务为善”的经营理念，为客户提供更优质的产品和更加完善的服务。
